Family and Human Development and Sociology Internship
The Sanford School Internship Program is offered to upper-division undergraduate students in Family and Human Development and Sociology. We believe that professional preparation can be enhanced through both rigorous coursework and opportunities to apply this knowledge in the field. With the provision of appropriate learning opportunities and mentorship throughout the internship, we believe that this experience will be mutually beneficial—that students will acquire needed professional skills while contributing to the important work being done by our company partners. Students get to choose their placements, and it is possible that a request for a project is approved by the educator, but no student chooses to work on that project. This is a for-credit experience, and all work will occur virtually. Students choose their own projects based on their own interests. Projects can be completed individually or in groups of up to 3 students.
Legal, Business, and Non-Profit Assistance

Do you need a small group of students to help with legal, business, or non-profit projects? Students can help gather, organize, and analyze information related to your business and/or legal needs. In small groups (2-4), we can tackle a broad spectrum of different projects. Since this is a course on U.S. foreign policy (POS361: American Foreign Policy) , anything related to this subject will be encouraged. Organizations can propose specific tasks upon which students agree to work. Please remember that this is a summer course, so the timeline is condensed. It begins June 30th and ends on August 10th.

Legal and Business Data Analysis

Do you need a small group of students to help with legal or business projects? Students can help gather, organize, and analyze information related to your business and/or legal needs. In small groups (2-4), we can tackle a broad spectrum of legal or business projects using the advanced R statistical software environment. Data analysis has become particularly important for the legal industry, such as environmental, immigration, and corporate law, as well as criminology generally speaking. Although undergraduate students enrolled in POS401: Political Statistics prefer to work in a legal profession, we are accepting any organization that requires data analysis. Organizations can propose specific tasks upon which students agree to work.

Denny Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics gain knowledge and skills necessary to promote successful relationships and positive outcomes for individuals, families, and communities across the life-span. Graduates often pursue careers working with children, youth, and adults in human, social and government agencies. In this experience students will delve into their area(s) of interest, developing a greater depth and understanding of topics that influence children, youth, and families, and that further the student's academic and professional goals. Capstone 3 students need to complete at least 40 hours of hands on experience that relates to their interests and their field of study. These hours must be completed during a 6-7 week-long capstone course. Students can complete these projects as individuals or teams .

Organizations that take a proactive approach to create a positive, diverse workplace are more likely to benefit from the breadth of knowledge, skills, and perspectives diversity offers while mitigating some of the more negative effects that can arise as employees negotiate their differences. Students will help your organization to ensure well-functioning diverse teams and workgroups through the goals outlined below.
Professional EPICS
Why EPICS? Multidisciplinary teams use their technical skills and innovative ideas to design and implement solutions for organizations. How does it work? Students are in an educational certificate program for Engineering Design, Project Management, and Inter-Personal Skills for Project Management and participate with your organization to grow their skills. EPICS teams tackle all stages of the innovation process, from feasibility and planning through design and implementation. What will you Get? Team of 4-6 engineering graduate students (MS or PhD) or recent MS or PhD engineering graduates seeking their Professional Development certificate. 15-20 hours per week per student What is your part? Weekly or every other week meetings with team Weekly educational development, lectures, resume review, job preparation, and overall reflection to help them prepare for a job.
Behavioral Health Management

This course is an online 8 week course on healthcare management for students in the Arizona State University Doctor of Behavioral Health degree program. Students represent clinical (e.g., social workers, counselors, nurses) and management (public health, health policy and administration, operations and finance, marketing). Our students are located across the United States, most are mature professionals with 10+ years of experience in the field. The Doctor of Behavioral Health is focused on integrated health care, the team-based, coordinated approach to prevention and improved management of medical, lifestyle, psychiatric and substance abuse problems in primary care and other settings. This course is focused on applied management homework assignments that may be ideal for a Riipen partner. General topics covered in this course include quality improvement, managing finance and budgets, managing health technologies, Human Resources, organizational dynamics and healthcare marketing.

Health Entrepreneurship and Innovation - Virtual Internship

Are you interested in engaging with the new generation of Health Care workers? The Health Entrepreneurship and Innovation students from Arizona State University are focused on creating positive changes and innovations in health care. This program prepares students with the freedom to collaboratively contribute to the design of new processes and solutions that impact people, products, environments, and health systems. Students are ready to tackle a health care challenge of your choosing using modern technology, public policy, and communication to manage the implementation of innovation in the health care arena. Students are available for 120 hours of placement over 15 weeks, beginning Jan 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually. ASU internships are a for-credit experience.

LEAD Program - Design thinking

The LEAD program provides first-year ASU students wth the opportunity to build relationships with classmates, upper-classmen mentors, and their faculty through small classes. In these classes, students not only learn traditional course learning outcomes, but also get to build the skills employers are seeking such as critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, and communication. Students have worked in teams to not only define a problem, but also pitch a solution. This is a culminating project that highlights the many skills these students have developed over the course of their first year in college.

Heat Transfer and Thermal Design
MAE 589
MAE 589 Heat Transfer is a graduate mechanical engineering class taken by master's and PhD students, usually from mechanical engineering but also from aerospace engineering and other disciplines. These students have generally had an undergraduate course on the same material, so they come into the class already with basic skills in heat transfer. They are capable of conducting analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA) using Ansys or other packages, and designing thermal solutions as a part of product development or other engineering applications.

The course focuses on how to create a business plan for a new business venture or an existing organization to meet the needs of the evolving healthcare marketplace. Consult with key organization stakeholders on the plan. Make a pitch to key stakeholders on the business plan. Human Factors and Engineering Psychology

My students are upper division undergraduates who have been trained in statistical analysis, scientific research design, psychological theories, and product/process design. They have been certified for human subjects research and can conduct UX, usability testing, surveys, and experimental research. Areas of competence would include education, management, market analysis, transportation, and organizational behavior.
Mediating Organizational Conflict - Coaching Plan

Workplace coaches are increasingly used to foster employee development. Coaching is distinct from training, in that it’s customized and focuses on the individual’s personal abilities to effect change and growth. This is a complement to workplace training, particularly for ongoing leadership development. In this project, students will develop a competency-based coaching plan for one of your team leaders/supervisory staff to help them resolve a workplace conflict situation. The student links your organization's goals with a specific outcome-based conflict resolution plan.
Marketing Materials for a Language Program

This course will explore practical applications of theory as they relate to successful program administration and development. It will provide an overview of the major issues language program administrators face, including but not limited to needs analysis, curricular development, program articulation, teacher training and supervision, program promotion and evaluation, and technology integration.

It allows companies to pursue their own economic goals along with promoting environmental stewardship and maintaining goodwill with their customers, communities, and other stakeholders. This could be done in a myriad of ways: a marketing campaign, public relations, a CSR analysis, educational materials, or anything else related to sustainability.
